Dawson C. Thomas, 16, of Bellefontaine and Jackson Center, Ohio, passed away far too soon on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Wilson Health in Sidney, leaving his family, friends, classmates, and community mourning the loss of a remarkable young man.
Born on January 21, 2010, Dawson was the beloved son of Christen (Halberstadt) and T.J. King of Bellefontaine, and Caleb M. Thomas of Anna. Though his life was tragically brief, it was filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering love for the people around him.

Dawson was known for his adventurous personality and fearless spirit. A true thrill seeker at heart, he loved gaming with friends, snowboarding, kayaking, camping, roller coasters, and spending time outdoors. Whether exploring the woods or competing in video games, Dawson had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories.
His dream was to become a pilot, reflecting his fascination with adventure and his desire to soar beyond the horizon. Friends remember him as kind, loyal, and endlessly funny, someone whose infectious sense of humor could brighten even the toughest day.

Dawson was a junior enrolled at Jackson Center High School and was pursuing his passion for skilled trades through the Electrical Trades program at Upper Valley Career Center. His determination, curiosity, and strong work ethic made him well respected by classmates and teachers alike.
Family and Loved Ones
Dawson is survived by his mother and stepfather, Christen and T.J. King; his father, Caleb M. Thomas; his siblings Hailey Ferrell, Sawyer Thomas, Foster King, Ciara Hayden, and Kiersten Wilcox; along with his grandparents, great-grandparents, extended family, and countless friends who loved him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jade Kennedy Thomas, his infant brother, M.J. Thomas, his grandfather John Thomas, and his great-grandfather Tom Meyer.

Even in death, Dawson continued helping others through the gift of organ donation, leaving behind a legacy of compassion that will forever impact the lives of those he saved.

Funeral Arrangements
Funeral services for Dawson Thomas will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Jackson Center Family Life Center, 310 Davis Street, Jackson Center, Ohio, with Deacon Terry Coleman officiating.
Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, and again one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday at the Family Life Center. Burial will be held privately at a later date in St. Lawrence Church Cemetery in Rhine, Ohio.
