According to investigators, the crash occurred at approximately 1:42 p.m. when a Ford F-250 pulling a trailer crossed the centerline while attempting to avoid a rear-end collision with a westbound Dodge pickup. The Ford entered the eastbound lane and struck Edwards' Chrysler head-on.
Edwards was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later by the Fayette County Coroner's Office.

Authorities identified Susan Edwards, 67, of East Bernstadt, as the passenger in Timothy's vehicle. She suffered critical injuries and was also flown to UK Medical Center for treatment.
The Ford was driven by Travis Gaskin, 31, of London, who was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital London with possible injuries. The driver of the Dodge pickup, Michael Williams, 48, of London, was not injured.
The London Police Department and Laurel County Sheriff's Office continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
